Mini Paceman 2.0 SD Tuning

FR Tuning Module fitted 02/05/2014
Gain 35BHp 45Nm
Already endowed with 143BHp from the BMW Sourced 2 litre diesel engine the FR Tuning Module makes a nice gain on this otherwise untunable vehicle – that is because it has the second generation Bosch dde 8 ecu that while looks identical to the generation 1 version will not read or write – The only option is the FR tuning module – this is not a common rail tuning box that would not work with this ecu it plugs into common rail, bosst pressure and crankcase angle sensors

How many Vivaro/Traffic/Primstars do you see on the road ? Hundreds, thousands even, must be economical right ? wrong – around town 27/28 mpg seems about the norm and taking them to the filling station will relieve your wallet of £120 plus as they have a rather large tank – but one thing is for sure they are practical and carry all your tools to work – so what can be done to help – A FlashRemapping Remap gains in drivability, power, smoothness and averaging out customers feedback 5mpg more – you would be crazy not to

Its not long in-between us remapping a BMW 3 Litre Diesel – they are just so good – this 231bhp e60 from 2005 has less than 100k miles which probably makes it quite rare. 40 minutes start to finish and its now faster, smoother, better response and with more mpg – and it was pretty good to start with

The Siemens ecu in the ds3 110/115 is a little more complicated than the Bosch unit in the 90/95 versions but still great gains and nicer driving experience once remapped
DS3s are one of our specialist cars we have probably remapped more of them than any other company in the world

Gain 42Bhp 85Nm
Up to 2007 the 525d had a 2.5 litre engine which was superseded by a downtuned 3.0d. This one is the 2.5 litre and Bosch edc16ecu so very tunable and the difference is very noticeable – faster smoother and better mpg

ECU Remapped 07/05/2014
Gain 25Bhp 55Nm
What a lovely van but what a pig of a remap to do – The ecu is located behind the nearside headlamp which has to come out, so does the header tank and a good few wires moved out of the way, once the ecu is out and opened the K Tag would not read the ecu so out came the CMD – ecu back in the van to read the security code the back out with the ecu to unlock it on the bench then back into the van to write teh modified software – phew – but at least the effort was worthwhile – it was a quick van before but now its better and with improved fuel economy too

Gain 35BHp 70Nm
This Santa Fe was a genuine low mileage great condition vehicle but with an auto box and only 115Bhp on tap it was lethargic to say the least – now remapped it is a whole lot better kick down is a revelation and mpg is improved too

Gain 40Bhp 80Nm
Lots of toys for your money on the Citroen C5 – Leather heated massaging seats – the list goes on but 136Bhp is not enough for a luxury barge with a slush box – fortunately we can do a lot to help 40Bhp and 80Nm makes a massive difference to this car after all that is 30% more power – Its got Go and Gadgets now

Ford Mondeo ST200 Remap

Ford Mondeo ST200 Remap

ECU Remapped 10/05/2014
Gain 15Bhp 22Nm
Its coming up to 14 years old but with only 54k miles and one owner from 11 months old this Mondeo was in near perfect condition – It had been tuned before but has added a performance air filter and exhaust so there was a bit more we can do and it was certainly noticeable, With Naturally aspirated engines the gains are not so big but drivability can often be improved more than the figures suggest

Mini Cooper D 1.6 Remap

Mini Cooper D 1.6 Remap

ECU Remapped 10/05/2014
Gain 30Bhp 60Nm
My soft spot for Minis grows – this was a 2008 so Bosch edc16 ecu so tunable via the diagnostic port and very nice gains. In a small car this gain is very very noticeable – Its a very swift little car now
while not having the bhp of the cooper S the extra torque at low revs makes it very drivable and with mpg comfortably above 50mpg and around 60 on a run its frugal too

Gain 50BHp 110NM
Yes you did read that correctly 50Bhp 100NM
That is a big gain from the 230BHp stock figure and very noticeable on the road from the big Audi and with smoother and more power from even low revs it is definitely a worthwhile modification

BMW 525D 177Bhp Remap

More great gains from the big Bimmers – even with strong mileage they go very well indeed – this one was the 2.5 litre 177bhp version rather than the later 197bhp 3 litre which came in 2007 but nevertheless a worthwhile job

I have tuned more e46 BMWs than Barry Manilow has handkerchiefs and it always surprises me how well these cars age
Great gains from the 4 cylinder Bavarian diesel engine turn it from a nice family car to a really sporty one with oodles of low down grunt and improved fuel economy too – unless you drive like a Cypriot LOL

Another car that has been to different tuners who could not tune it well we know exactly what the problem is – the early ( 2007/mid 2008) w204 cdi Mercs have a delphi dcm3.2 ecu – you can tell this as the label on the ecu will identify it as a crd2.10 or 2.11 – this ecu cannot be tuned via the obd port it must be tuned on the bench – this had obviously been attempted ( and failed) before as the ecu had previously been opened and the pads on the ecu that need to be linked had solder marks all over them and one of the pads was badly scratched away – I took the ecu back to the workshop as I wanted to attach to the ecu under the microscope to make sure of good contacts – no problem – back at the car a couple of hours later with a nicely tuned ecu – much better to drive well worth the effort

Early start today just before 8.00 but that was lucky as the rain was only drizzle then to get the ecu out of the Range Rover – Its a bit of a battle but this is about the 50th 3.0 we have tuned so all in about 80 minutes to get the ecu opened and tuned and back in the vehicle
Very nice gains on these cars with improved economy too

Mercedes Vito 109 Remap

After the bench tune a Vito is lovely OBD remapping – just plug into the diagnostic socket and away you go read – modify – write . I had the big battery stabilizer connected as edc16 ecus in Mercedes usually throw all the fans on during the write process but didn,t on this one – still better to be safe than sorry if the battery voltage drops below 11.3 volts it can create problems
Its certainly a better van now and again improved fuel economy

Another e46 BMW this time the beautifully shaped coupé version which shares the same 150BHp 2.0 litre diesel engine with the saloon brother – We know how well these remap 40 extra BHp and 80Nm of torque is a great gain as is the extra 7-10% fuel economy

After battling to tune a 2014 transporter for a day and a half which has newer software that needs to be cracked it was nice to get back to what is quite a simple bench tune – Bosch edc17cp20 non t/prot – ecu easily accessible in a waterproof box in front of the driver but under the bonnet – couple of anti tamper bolts to deal with and its out – The tuning gives very nice gains on these cars in both performance and economy

Milltek Turbo back exhaust with hi- flow cat fitted – FlashRemapping Tuning module fitted
BMC Air filter fitted 29/05/2014
Gain 65BHp 110Nm
The Mk7 Golf is a sensible yet very enjoyable car but if you want real fireworks the Golf R might be your thing with 300BHp rather than the Performance pack models 230 – or you can get the performance pack one and fit our own tuning module gaining 50 BHp 95Nm and a milltek turbo back exhaust and air filter adding at least another 15Bhp for around £2500 depending on exact spec you have a real flying machine even with the dsg box this car is quick and feels urgent like it was to show that scooby how its done – the Golfs differential is very clever and keeps the front wheel drive car well in check

Gain 40BHp 80Nm ~(Blend Remap)
The big Audi Q7 is a great vehicle and pretty good value now – this 2007 version still had the older edc16 ECU but that is very tunable – with fuel economy in mind a blend tune was chosen that will give plenty of extra power and torque and will be smoother to drive but more importantly extra mpg – win-win situation then

Ford Focus ST 2.5 Remap

Gain 50BHp 100Nm
A quick look at autotrader tells me you can pick up a Focus ST 2.5 from just under 5 grand – you would probably end up spending a bit more to get a low mileage one with FSH but what else of this quality and tunability can you get for that sort of money? This one had 60k miles full Ford service history, leather and all the goodies, An upgraded intercooler and KandN air filter element helps with our tuning and it is now an extremely quick car – once you get the tuning bug though its contagious next on this customers shopping list is a milltek exhaust with hi flow race cats and a billet aluminium intake manifold 300 bhp here we come
