ECU Remapping, Chipping and Chip Tuning
FlashRemapping, July 2015
Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI 95 Remap
ECU Remapped 06/07/2015
Gain 30Bhp 60Nm
This was a 60 reg 2010 fiesta 1.6 tdci so I was expecting to see a edc16 ecu but it must have been one of the very first edc17 ecus used on these Fiestas – Not much difference though the ecu has to be tuned on the bench for either option – Its now miles smoother and more powerful – add in some better mpg and its a great remap
Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi Remap
ECU Remapped 11/07/2015
Gain 38bhp 75Nm
2004 Ford Galaxy with teh 1.9 TDI VW engine combo – well it is exactly the same as a VW Sharan – straight forward OBD Remap and great gains – Look at whats nestling in the gagage tho Ford Anglia running a 351 Windsor and NO2 that will run a quarter in under 10 seconds now thats power
Range Rover 3.0 TD6 Remap
ECU Remapped 11/07/2015
Gain 40Bhp 120Nm
A BMW 3 Litre straight 6 diesel engine in a Range Rover has to be very tunable – strange then that the remap that was already on this car had only 1 map changed “injection timing” heavily modded but nothing else touched at all – well what was the point of that – who did it well the stamp in the file said “superchips”
We soon corrected this map and put our own remap on the car – better now and will also be better on fuel
BMW E87 116D Remap
ECU Remapped 11/07/2015
Gain 40BHp 80Nm
The 116D in the e87 is still a 2 litre with 116 bhp stock so there is plenty of room for improvement, Its a bench tunebut teh edc17cp02 is actually easy to get to open and read/write and the job is done in under 2 hours – the car is now much less laggy to drive more power throughout and smoother
BMW E39 530D Remap
ECU Remapped 16/07/2015 in Dartford
Gain 42Bhp 90Nm
This was a 2002 BMW and the e39 is still a quality car – many may be showing their age now and many have racked up spaceship mileage. this one needed a little tlc to the leather but was generally good and while we were remapping it we also fitted a new KandN filter replacing the wombles arm that it had previously – it certainly goes better now
Mercedes W205 C250 CDi BlueTec Remap
ECU Remapped 16/07/2015 in Sidcup
Gain 35Bhp 80Nm
Another first here at FlashRemapping – I see some tuners claim they can tune these latest c class but I have seen no actual cars or proof they have done it well we have – A similar delphi ecu as used in the previous model but it now sits on top of the engine but we didnt need that – the process it long winded with a 100 minute read for just 4mb and that in itself caused issue as the car wants to shut itself down but we figured a way and now the Mrec is faster, much smoother, better throttle response and will give improved mpg
BMW E87 123D Remap
ECU Remapped 17/07/2015
Gain 40Bhp 85Nm
First in today was a58 reg BMW 123d which it the most powerful diesel 1 series in the e87 with 204 bhp in stock form so certainly no slouch to start with but a remap transforms this car its nearly 250BHp and up from 400 to 485Nm of torque – comparable in torque to a 135i – no wonder its quick and the throttle response is amazing – got one ? remap it – you will be impressed
BMW E53 X5 3.0D Remap and EGR Delete
ECU Remapped 17/07/2015
Gain 42Bhp 90Nm
The second e53 X5 we have remapped in as many weeks and they are still a very solid vehicle despite being 11 years old – The owner had blanked the EGR valve so we levels the EGR duty cycle map and deleted p0401 fault code for good measure as well as our excellent remap for the 6 cylinder BMW diesel engine – goes a whole lot better now and no more EGR problems
Nissan X-Trail 2.0 DCI Remap
ECU Remapped 20/07/2015
Gain 25BHp 55Nm
This is the 173 BHp version which is pretty powerful for a 2 litre engine but it has pretty poor fuel economy – Now putting a performance remap on it doesn’t sound right but it frees up torque limiters and being the T31 X-trail wasn’t designed with much in the way or aerodynamics this will work a treat
VW Caddy 1.6 TDi Remap
ECU Remapped 23/07/2015
Gain 35BHp 65Nm
This facelift 2012 Caddy was already the 102 BHp version that requires the ecu unlocking before we can remap it OBD – no problems though we have done a few of these and boy they do go well – as a note here if you bought a 1.6 tdi 75Bhp Caddy we can also remap these to 135BHp or so as the engines are identical to the 102 BHp version – now that is a big jump in power
Vauxhall Vectra 2.0T Remap
ECU Remapped 24/07/2015
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
This 2003 vectra has the same engine/ ecu as a Saab which is a good thing – The Trionic T8 ecu is vey tunable and great gains are available here
VW Golf MKv1 1.6Tdi Remap
ECU Remapped 24/07/2015 in Colchester
Gain 30BHp 60Nm
Just like the VW Caddy yesterday its a two pronged attack on the Siemens PCR2.1 ecu – firstly open the ecu to unlock it and then replace in the vehicle and tune obd – all done in an hour and a half. The car has been specifically bought by the customer as he has a 50 mile each way commute to work so 100 miles a day – 500 a week 25k a year just on commuting so this reliable little economical hatch is just the ticket but who says you cant have a bit of fun driving it and a few more mpgs too
Range Rover TD6 Remap
ECU Remapped 26/07/.2015
Gain 40BHp 120Nm
These Range Rovers seem to have dropped in price recently and when you know you can fit facelift lights front and rear and make them look a lot younger they make a good buy – They are fitted with BMWs straight 6 diesel engine that will last and last – The lack of performance can quickly be dealt with by remapping and now they are a great vehicle to own – OK parts will not be cheap but what else gives you that feeling
Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTi 130 Remap
ECU Remapped 27/07/2015
Gain 65Bhp 120Nm
That seems a healthy old gain in power doesn’t it. Well there is a good reason for this, the 2.0 cdti Insignia comes in two powers in 2010 130 Bhp 300Nm and 160Bhp 350Nm. This was the lower powered version and the only difference is the ecu software – no hardware differences at all. In 90 minutes we have pulled the ecu and opened on the bench, read the software on the ecu – lined it up with 160BHp software and copied the changes over ~( making 30BHp and 50Nm here ) then gone about tuning the updated software in our usual manner ( another 35Bhp 70Nm )
The difference is amazing – what was a very lacklustre car now feels – dare I say it – Sporty
2015 Nissan Skyline GTR 600ps Remap
ECU Remapped 28/07/2015
Gain 80BHp 120Nm
If 592 BHP is not enough for you in your brand new GTR there are a few tricks we can pull – Firstly a decat Armytrix exhaust, a couple of performance panel filters and then our extra special racerom4 remap – this is a cut above – 4 switchable maps based on teh type of fuel you are using 95 / 97/98 or 100 RON fuel, each map has adjustable boost levels up to map 4 which can be tweeked to 1.2 Bar – this 4th map also incorporates rolling launch control – only to be used on wide open roads with little or no traffic around as it will almost literally pull your face off.
These cars are very special each engine given a final check and signed off with a little plaque on the front of the engine – they may be 85 grand but it is definately 85 grand well spent
VW Caddy 2.0 TDi 140 Remap
ECU Remapped 28/07/2015
Gain 40BHp 80Nm
2014 VW Caddy 2.0 can more often than not be remapped via the OBD port – As long as we have a software match that has previously been tuned on the bench as we can bypass the anti-tune software – That was the case here and the van is a lot sharper and more torquey immediately – only taking an hour to tune
Mitsubshi Lancer Ralliart Remap
ECU Remapped 29/07/2015
Gain 40Bhp 80Nm
Very nice gains from the 2010 Ralliart which shares the same ecu as the EVOX – this one had completely different software to the one we did in January so it did take a few hours to get right – worth the wait tho as now drives stronger through the SST gearbox
Jaguar XJ 2.7D Remap
ECU Remapped 29/07/2015
Gain 45Bhp 100Nm
This was a 2009 2.7 diesel which has just had new egr valves – not a job I would like to do especially as I could have deleted them in the mapping but that’s beside the point – The 204 Bhp in the Jag is good but not good enough 249BHp is much more like it
Better response smoother and more mpg – that’s a great result
Skoda Fabia 1.6TDi Remap
ECU Remapped 30/07/2015
Gain 30Bhp 65Nm
Funny that is 2 years ago now we did a project remap on a Skoda Fabia with the 1.6 TDi Engine – proving that all 1.6Tdi are the same 75/90/102 Bhp and we could tune a 75BHp to 130+ Bhp but we never saw that many coming in for what must be the best tune on the planet but now we are seeing more and more – 3 in the last week and probably plenty more on the way – maybe its the age of the cars falling into tuner territory or maybe the owners have finally got fed up with the way the torque dies like falling off a cliff after 3000 rpm – anyways we are seeing these regularly now which makes our work a few years ago worthwhile.
This remap works on all VAG 1.6Tdis from Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda and all get just over 130BHp no matter what you start with
BMW 545I E60 Remap
ECU Remapped 30/07/2015
Gain 21BHp 32NM
There is an old saying some of us older guys still have in our heads “Theres no substitute for CCs” and I have to say this still applies – The 545i has no turbo lag – plenty of power silky smooth right up to the red line – but we have to enjoy the V8s now as 1 litre eco boosts are taking over the world.
This Bimmer is visiting Santa Pod at the weekend – target 14 seconds lets see how it gets on
VW Crafter 2.5 TDi 109 Remap
ECU remapped 31/07/2015
Gain 38BHP 85Nm
As with all VW vans they seems to last better than pretty much anything on the market – this was a 57 reg with just under 100k miles so plenty of life left – plenty of work still to do – the EGR had also been playing up so while we remapped it we also deleted the EGR duty cycle to stop those problems – i remember when we had to bench tune these even with the EDC16 ecu but it all down the plug now – its nearly too easy to get more power and better mpg
