Jaguar S Type 2.7D Remap

Back to tuning after a nice Christmas break – First up the 2.7 litre diesel Jaguar, the same engine as used in many Range Rovers and Land Rovers as well as bigger Peugeots – These tune very well giving loads of extra power and improved mpg too

Citroen Nemo 1.3 Hdi Remap

A quick run down to Southend this morning to remap this little Citroen Nemo which has the Fiat 1.3litre engine which is also found in the Peugeot Bipper and Fiat Fiorino vans. Fitted with a Marelli ecu they always seem to have some oddity when reading and writing but all done via the OBD plug – the van is now more nippy and more frugal – 75BHp was just never enough even though the load are is tiny these vans are very popular

Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 Cdti Remap

Gain 60Bhp 110Nm
Massive gains from the Vauxhall that is because this is the 130BHp version – identical to the 160Bhp version so no problem to map it to the level of a tuned 160 – that will make one hell of a difference 300NM of torque now upped to 410NM. Being a 2011 vehicle with a Bosch ecu we have to tune it on the bench but the ecu is so easy to get in and out it takes 90 minutes start to finish. This car was tuned for our friends at Bromley Car Audio – they offer great deals on window tinting, alarms, trackers and of course a full range of stereos etc.

Ford Focus ST Remap

fitted with a 2.5 litre Volvo engine these Ford Focus STs are pocket rockets 225BHp in stock form and with massive gains from a remap they certainly are entertaining – do not buy one in this colour unless you want to be noticed though it was sunglasses time to remap it even though it was raining and overcast

Mercedes Vito w639 111Cdi Remap

Im always worried about the battery drain on Mercedes when I know they are fitted with the Bosch edc16 ecu – most of the time when writing the fans will come on and drain the battery which causes a big problem. I always use the biggest (60+amp) battery stabilizer I have to make things nice and safe – It might be cumbersome to carry around but I cant afford to loose any more hair or turn the small balance I have left any grayer. Great results from the Vito though now more powerful than the 115 and with improved fuel economy

Audi A5 3.0 TDi Remap

Most late VAG group diesels ( 2.0 litre +) we can now remap via the OBD port which makes life lovely and easy, most days we dont even get out hands dirty but there are a few exceptions. If we dont have a copy of the origional software of file or it has the cp14 version of Bosch’s EDC17ecu. That was the case here an EDC17CP14 but its good to keep our hand in and tri-core remapping doesnt get much simpler than this – ecu out in 2 mins with no security bolts to fight – open,read, modify, write, seal. reinstall and then test the lovely 3.0 v6 diesel with all that extra power – all in under 2 hours

Audi Q7 3.0 TDi Remap

This is one customer who doesnt need anymore punch – Heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte has plenty of punch, former British Heavyweight kickboxing champion and undefeated heavyweight boxer until last years match with Anthony Joshua. Best I get this map right then – An easy OBD remap as we had a copy of original software for this 2014 vehicle. The gains very noticeable with improved throttle response and more get up and go

Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Remap

Gain 25BHP 50Nm
A blend remap for this 1.6 TDCi focus – it was however the 110 BHp version so not as bad to drive as the 90 BHp version so now with 135BHp ish its pretty sharp to drive – The edc16cp34 ecu can loose coding after writing the ecu so we have to wait till the dash turns off before starting – usually 3 minutes but this one took nearly 15 minutes to go to sleep ( and I wasnt far behind it )

Ford Mondeo 2.5 ST Remap

Amazing gains from the volvo engined Mondeo – This is the same engine and ecu as in a Focus ST ( Bosch ME9 ) but I do remember taking an ecu out of one of these before to tune on the bench – this one was slightly different to the Focus’s though in that we could not read the ecu and had to get a library file to modify – writing as usual though and just 30 minutes later the big Ford is now a flying machine

Porsche 911 (997) Turbo Remap

480 Bhp stock with a bit more from overboost makes a stonkingly good car – remapping it for an extra 50 BHp with improved throttle response makes it even better – these cars are not for teh shy or retiring they are for those who love cars and driving 

BMW E46 320D Remap

These e46 BMWs are strong cars which can cover large mileages this one had a few miles under its belt but the danger areas ahd been sorted – swirl flap removed, egr delete, and a modified exhaust – the remap has added good power and throttle response ready for a few more miles yet 

Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 Crd Remap

The Cherokee is a chunk of a car with a 3 litre v6 Mercdes engine with 218 BHp in stock form – this customer has had a jaguar, and his Sprinter van remapped by us so knows its a great thing to do for improved drive and better fuel economy so we were straight down to give the Jeep the FlashRemapping treatment. 30 minutes and its now transformed to the car is should always have been 

Mercedes c200 Cdi w204 Remap

While we were tuning the Jeep for Gary we also remapped his son Gary’s new mercedes – It does a few miles driving to work and back so fuel economy in paramount but the c200 only has 136Bhp in stock form so we can add quite a bit of extra power while still achieving improved mpg 

Ford Ranger 2.2 TDCi 150PS Remap

The new Ford Ranger has a 2.2 Litre engine as found in Transits, Evoques, and many other vehicles – It is controlled by a Siemens SID208 ecu – so has to be bench tuned and with a bit more power than most ecus. Ford in their wisdom have decided to put the ecu under the fuse box so its a little complicated to remove – battery out, fuse box move, fuse box bracket remove and then there is still a security bolt on the ecu – still worth the battle as its now got the get up and go to give its mate the Amorak a run for its money 

BMW 118D Remap

Mick has used us in the past for remapping his X5 which he was very pleased with so when his sons car came back from BMW workshop after having some bodywork repairs he was gutted to find they had wiped out his remap even though there was no reason for BMW to have done this – not even an airbag had gone off – He had bought the car remapped by another company but had no details – It was a 2008 118d so edc17 – now even though this car would not have had anti-tune software on teh ecu the software update by BMW may have installed it – once we had read the map OBD we checked the sw numbers against our list and no anti-tune so we were safe to remap via the plug – great gains from the baby BMW they should all be tuned 

VW Golf Tfsi R Remap

This 2010 MK6 Golf R can be remapped OBD as it has a me9 ecu – this is good news – bad news its a slow read and write but its well worth the wait – great gains from the 2.0 Tfsi engine , this one has a lovely exhaust and air intakes – but the pcv delete looked a bit suspect it may leak air into the inlet manifold – we have taped it up for now but will need a better silicone hose ideally 

Audi A4 1.8T 163PS Remap

The Audi A4 1.8T Cabriolet – well built motor – well know engine good for tuning – all the bells and whistles you would want from a car and probably now depreciationless as they have reached a ridiculously low price yet still have plenty of style – you can buy these is good nick around the 4 grand mark – once tuned they go really well – bit of regular maintenance and this will be a cheap car to own yet still look good – autotrader here I come
