The Latest shape Mercedes A class used the Delphi dcm3.5 as used in many late Mercedes diesels and we can remap these simply and easily via the OBD port – in just over n hour we can transform the 170BHp 220 Cdi in to a 207 Bhp vehicle now that is a really nice difference on the road

These Chrysler Crossfires are actually a Mercedes SLK in drag and come with a 3.2 litre engine , either naturally aspirated 218BHp or Supercharged with 330BHp – this was teh naturally aspirated version with an auto box – Remapping is simple on teh Bosh ME2.8 ecu – get an i/d and match to a library file – remap and write – 30 minutes and the car is now quicker and more responsive

Despite being a 2013 vehicle this Vauxhall is fitted with an old edc16 ecu which means tuning via the obd plug is nice and easy and the gains make a world of difference 90-115bhp is quite a jump at that level

Ok small gains from the little 1.25 litre Fiesta but when you only have 80 BHp to start every bit helps – the gain is actually pretty noticeable and throttle response keener – For younger drivers where insurance costs are crippling these cars make good sense but why not make the most of them

Its Red vehicle day today here at FlashRemapping – If you think Red Transits are all Post Office vans you wouldnt be far wrong – even the Vin plate is stamped Post Office – but this is now out of service. A 58 plate with just 46k miles and has had the ST treatment and is super clean – two problems 85Bhp and a 70MPH speed limit – Now the remap gives nearly 50% extra power and we can remove the speed limiter all in the file on this vehicle – Its also a nice easy job for us 45 minutes and without getting our hands dirty

Something strange is seen every day in the tuning world – After reading the ME9 ecu on this Audi we found it had already been remapped – well when I say remapped the ecu data had been changed – now its not the hardest thing in the world to remap an Audi with its 2.0 TFSi engine – But whoever had been here before us had not increased desired boost or boost limiters at all – instead they had tried to gain more boost by changing the wastegate duty cycle map – very strange and while it is possible why would you do that when you can change desired boost and boost limiter maps – We changed things to the way we like them and now the car drives a lot better – 45BHp 85Nm over stock – the map that was on it may have increased the power a bit but without checking on a dyno who knows by how much – we always where possible compare the read map to an original before tuning

Big gains from eh big Audi especially mid range, despite being automatic the power increase is very noticeable, Better throttle response and improved fuel economy too if driven with a bit of restraint

Audi S3 1.8T Remap

The 1.8T Vag engine must be one of the most tuned engines ever, they came in many BHp versions from 150 through to 240BHp in a special edition Audi TT, This 225 BHp version of the S3 performed very well after the map and dint get any misfire problems that can be found from a weak plug or coil pack that is very common on this engine

BMW 1M Remap

This BMW 1M E87 is one of just 450 ever produced according to the plaque in eh cockpit – resplendent in what can only be described as Metalic David Dickinson Spray Tan. Its certainly an eye catcher. The exhaust is being upgraded by or friends at R and R Performance while we set about remapping the MSD81 ecu – this involves a super long 1 hour read – modification and 15 minute write – It wasnt slow to start with but this should be really quick now – hopefully will get the exhaust on today for a little test drive

The W207 is the convertible version of the Mercedes E class and what a looker. It has the same 2148 cc engine as used is so many of the three pointer star’s other vehicles in this case with 170Bhp standard – thats not bad but the e250 has 204 Bhp – Remapping the Delphi ecu is a simple OBD affair and takes the power just past that of the 250 and with much improved throttle response even with the automatic box

A nice blend remap on this big Mercedes – As you can see this is a bench tune with the ecu living in the offside front wheelarch, behind the liner – I have never worked out why the ecu lives here, a slight split in the liner will mean the ecu gets a daily bath which would not be good but Mercedes must have their reasons, One boot pin on the ecu and lives, earth, can high and can low are all that is required on the plug and the ecu reads and writes painlessly.
Much more responsive on the test drive although the gearbox takes a mile or two to adapt to the extra torque

The Siemens SID208 ecu as used in the Ford transit from 2012 onward has to be tuned on the bench but the battle with the security frame is well worthwhile as the gains from the lowest powered version are phenomenal – totally transforming what was a lackluster performer into a very sporty van

Despite these cars being listed as tunable via the OBD plug the protocol of communication is not reliable in our experience so we always tune on the bench – Twin Bosch ME9 ecus located each side of the engine bay come out relatively easily and bench tuning on these is simply dropping a probe onto the BDM pads. This car has also had a Miltek exhaust and BMC air filters adding a few more ponies to the mix – The results not too shabby at all as you would expect

Nice 2005 Subaru remapped this morning – This car had been mapped before but looked pathetic – installing our remap widens the power band significantly making the car much more driveable in more of the rev range – We also fitted a Simota panel air filter that helps the car breath better – A test drive showed a marked performance gain over the previous effort – fortunately it was not mapped previously with ecu-tek as we would then have to use a new license to remap it again
