The very latest VW Golf diesels have a Bosch EDC17CP74 ecu that can be remapped via the OBD port if we have a full read of the ecu on our database – fortunately we had one for this car despite it only having 1000 miles on the clock – about an hour to improve the performance and economy from this already swift Golf

Have a look at the number plate – guess what we were doing – yep remapping the ecu – Paul had been told this vehicle requires a bench tune – only one reason why a tuner would say that for sure – he is using cloned tools that do not support writing of edc17cp54 ecus via the OBD port – We NEVER use cloned tools or even tools out of license – yes it is possible if we did not have original software match on our database that we would have to open the ecu but this was not the case we did do it OBD – no tuner can tell that without plugging into the car
FlashRemapping has tuned nearly 4000 vehicles we know our stuff be careful who you choose for your remapping requirements – If it looks too good or cheap to be true it probably is or nasty shortcuts are being taken at your risk

ECU Remapped 08/07/2016
Gain 42BHp 90NMThis was a 2012 61 plate BMW so its going to be a bench tune – no probelm we have done hundreds of these the ecu is out and open in 10 minutes and back in the car in under 2 hours – much swifter now with better throttle response – This was a EDC17CP09 ecu so no board flip which did make life a bit easier for us

First up today was this 3 litre turbo diesel Mercedes – what luxury you get with a S Class for not really much money – This was a 2008 so fitted with a Bosch EDC16 ecu that we can tune via the OBD port – only point worth noting is the whole array of fans that come on during the write that needs plenty of battery support – easily covered with our Sap On 65AMP stabilizer
Nice gains from the Mercedes in power and economy

Like the S Class we tuned earlier this 2008 B class has a Bosch EDC16 ecu so tunable via the OBD port – the process takes about an hour the car is now better to drive AND more economical

ECU Remapped 10/07/2016
Gain 42BHp 90Nm
This 2008 BMW can be remapped via the OBD port as it uses the slightly older Bosch edc16 ECU – but being a 2008 it means it is a 3 litre engine rather than the earlier 2.5 litre – that is 197Bhp in stock form 239BHp mapped with a large wodge of torque – The customer wanted to test drive it afterwards – of course no problem with that but was enjoying the difference by the time he was in 2nd gear

This was a June 2015 Kahn Range Rover which is the first we have remapped via the OBD port – This makes life a lot easier – Note it is only 2015 onward versions with the BoschEDC17CP55 ecu we can remap obd – the 2.7s are all obd but early 3.0 tdv6 and sdv6s are still bench tuning
Nice gains get the Big Range help it get down the road much nicer
This was a very blingy version – custom paint and a custom interior

A you can see from the decals this Transit earns its living hauling block paving around – 125BHp is not enough when you have a pallet of bricks in the back – Remapping does involve removing the ecu but can still be done in around 2 hours
Much improved now for those last minute driveway scenarios

Mercedes Vito 113 Remap

Mercedes Vito 113 Remap

ECU Remapped 14/07/2016
Gain 38Bhp 75Nm
Great gains from the Mercedes van and always a pleasure to do as despite being 2012 it is OBD remapping with a Delpi ecu – about 15 minute read time and 10 minute write means we can remap these Mercs in just over an hour – happy days

BMW 320D Compact Remap

BMW 320D Compact Remap

Nice gains from the 2 litre diesel BMW as always – The edc16 ecu responds well to the tuning and is easy enough to do via the OBD port

We havent seen one of these PD130s for quite a whle – but what a good engine they were – nice to drive than the rarer pd150 with a nice wide power band but yet a good turbo kick at 1900-2000 rpm – well a mapped one is just the same but better – more power all over the rev range – this one might not be as economical as some as it was the quattro version but still good mpg and better road handing

Returning customer Adam was a little surprised to learn his car had previously been remapped but it wasnt done very well – strong on boost but weak on timing and torque limiters – now it has a nicely balanced remap and the difference is remarkable – the car must have been hitting torque limiters before as it was pretty juddery – now its nice and smooth and powerful

This 2007 Volvo is a bit of an odd one – It has a Bosch edc16 ecu that can be remapped but there is no K line at the OBD plug – that is the communication line we use on earlier cars to program the ecu – In this case we could remove the ecu and drop a bdm probe on the board but the BDM pads are on the reverse of the ecu which requires the dreaded board flip – very dangerous – so the method we use is Jimmying a k line into the ecu plug pin 43 and running that to an obd breakout plug that goes into the obd port of the car – then once our tool is connected we read and write as per normal – this only adds 15 minutes to the job and is risk free – The Volvo is now faster smoother and more fuel efficient

This 2011 Disco 4 still requires a bench tune – all 2.7 tdv6 and 2015 onward 3.0 are tunable via the OBD port but 2010-2014 require tuning on the bench – just over 2 hours to remove the ecu from behind the battery open read modify and write not bad considering the results transform the vehicle

Family commitments for James meant trading up from his 1.9 TDi golf 130 to a more baby friendly vehicle – The 1.9 Tdi Vag engine is a good one but only comes with 103 Bhp in the Touran and that left his feeling like he had switched to low fat milk. A remap soon improves matters getting to 140ish bhp which will have performance similar to his old Golf as its a fair bit heavier and rather unaerodynamic

This was a january 2011 b8 Audi a4 which has a tuning protected ecu but in teh BAG group as long as we have a read back up on our database we can still tune via the obd plug – that was teh case here so in under an hour the Audi which was already pretty quick is now very quick indeed

Subaru Impreza WRX 2.5 Remap

ECU Remapped 26/07/2016
Gain 30BHp 55Nm
One of our favorite cars for remapping with great gains – this one was prepared with a few goodies before the remap – decatted up and down pipes, atmostpheric dump valve and we fitted a Simota air filter – that would have added 10-15 BHp the remap gains 30BHp at peak with bigger gains 45 Bhp odd through the rev range so this scooby should now be 265/270 BHp with a wider power band

ECU Remapped 26/07/2016
Gain 40Bhp 80Nm
From the first 320d in the e90 shape till mid 2007 the power was 163PS or 161Bhp if you still deal in old money, These cars can be tuned very well up to 54BHp gains. This one was a little leggy so we went for a strong blend file which still gives an impressive 40Bhp 80Nm – The EDC16 ECU is a slow read at 37 minutes but thankfully only a partial write is needed ( this only rewrites teh areas of the ecu we have changed) an that is 2 minutes so just about an hour to give the Bimmer fresh legs

Audi A4 3.2 fsI Remap

Audi A4 3.2 FSi Remap

ECU remapped 30/07/2016
Gain 20 Bhp 25Nm
The v6 3.2 FSi is a rare beast in the Audi A4 – This uses the same MED9.1 ecu as used in the more common 2.0TFSi so no problem to remap, The gains are smaller but throttle response is massively improved making it much nicer to drive – If you like bigger engines these are a sensible option

Mercedes c220 CDi Remap

Mercedes C220 CDi Remap

ECU Remapped 30/07/2016
Gain 38BHp 75Nm
This 2003 Mercedes uses the older Bosch EDC15 ecu which means we have to breakout the big battery stabiliser to support the car during reading and writing as the fans suck lots of power at this time – great gains make the 143 BHp 2143cc Mercedes much much more fun even with its automatic gearbox – remapping si a must for these cars

Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7 TDV6 Remap

ECU Remapped 30/07/2016
Gain 38BHp 85Nm
This HSE is a fully equipped vehicle with go anywhere looks and ability however the 2.7 engine with only 188Bhp in stock form does make it feel rather lethargic on the road – Remapping makes a whole world of difference especially from initial take off when the slush box tends to have a little think about what its going to do before doing it

This Jaguar has exactly the same engine as yesterdays Discover 3 – the french 2.7 litre v6 diesel but it drives a lot differently in teh Jag – now its mapped its even better loads of torque and speed that converted so many of us from petrol cars to diesel
