Vauxhall Astra 2.0 CDTi 165 Remap

For those who think remapping is just plugging a computer into a car this Bosch EDC17CP59 shows how trikky some bench tunes can be – even with our specially made probes there are 5 connections to the plug and another 8 connections direct to the PCB board two requiring 470Ohm resistors in line- taking your time to ensure correct connection is imperative as is a steady hand – still in under 2 hours we have given this Astra Coupe a lot more get up and go – certainly a lot less laggy – and improved fuel economy too

Here at FlashRemapping we love a Defender – What a shame they arent making them anymore – this vehicle is nearly 10 years old but still looks fantastic with its 2.4 litre transit engine and even a Ford Visteon ecu but thats good because tuning is simple – down the plug – 45 minutes and the go anywhere do anything vehicle can now do it a lot faster and more economically – win – win

This 2005 Audi had a few faults after the owner had fitted the Darkside intake manifold – With the EGR ( exhaust gas recirculation valve) and ASV ( Anti Shudder Valve ) now in the recycling bin the faults for these and EGR duty cycle map had to be sorted – while we were there we looked at the previous map that was on the car and adjusted it a bit – The egr duty cycle map had been altered like you would alter a torque limiter – probably because ECM used to label the map incorrectly and the previous tuner didnt know the difference between maps and he had missed a torque limiter completely but thats all rectified now

Range Rover 3,0 TD6 Remap

A new Range Rover will cost you around a hundred bags – a 10 year old one about 7 percent of that price – OK its older probably have 100k miles on it ( but it is a 3 litre BMW diesel engine ) and will be considerably slower – well we can do something about that and its quick and simple – 40 minutes and we have added a plenty of power as was revealed on the test drive

No we haveent reversed the picture on this BMW – this is a French registered LHD BMW X5 – and a mid 2009 one so still with the edc16 ecu which makes tuning possible via the OBD port. As always great gains from the 3 litre six cylinder BMW diesel engine much quicker off the mark

Remapping cars has become very reliable and straightforward when using the correct tools but every now and then something goes wrong. You would be able to tell a lot more about your tuner on how they can get themselves out of a problem. Today was one of those days the 58 Reg Golf is fitted with a Bosch MED17.5.1 ecu that is tunable via the OBD port. everything seemed to go fine until starting the car after writing the modified file – no start – now we have tuned enough cars to have seen this before – coding or checksum error – we know that because once the key is turned in the ignition the fans come on, meaning there is a problem with the ecu. 95pct of the time rewriting the original file solves this problem but for one reason or another even in ” recovery” mode we could not do this. So out with the ecu and get a BDM read on the bench – email the details to Alientech and they sent us back a recovery file which returned the ecu to its original state – this started the car. We then removed the ecu again and tuned it again this time on the bench – usual great results Faster smoother and more economical – FlashRemapping only use genuine tools, In licence with their maker so we have the support, we also have the tools needed to tune on the bench – OK this wasn’t an ideal scenario but we can solve these rare but possible problems – choose your tuner carefully
